Irish golfer Padraig Harrington criticised by Thomas Bjorn
Irish golf star Padraig Harrington has been criticised by Thomas Bjorn for remarks he is said to have made regarding the European Tour membership rules and current proposals.
Bjorn, who is currently the European Tour's players' committee chairman, had proposed that some of the top names in the sport should increase their commitment to the European Tour.
Harrington was, however, reported as claiming that he was considering taking the issue to the European Union, and Bjorn thought this was not called for.
Both Bjorn and Harrington had been Ryder Cup team-mates back in 2002, but they have since fallen out over this matter of the European Tour.
Harrington takes part on both the European and United States-based PGA Tour but he is not in agreement with the European Tour bosses like Bjorn, who are asking high-profile members to commit to more tournaments.
