Irish golf star Padraig Harrington looks forward to Wales Open
Irish golf star Padraig Harrington is looking forward to making his first appearance at this year's Wales Open, which will be held at the Celtic Manor near Newport.
The Wales Open is now celebrating its ninth year, and runs from the 29 May to 1 June and it offers a first chance to play golf on the new course, which was specially designed for the 2010 Ryder Cup.
Padraig Harrington, looking ahead, said: "This gives me an opportunity to get an early look at the course and I've heard good things about it. I hear that it should provide a great challenge, which will hopefully suit my game."
Harrington has been playing well recently and was the highest ranking European in the US Masters earlier this April, when he came in fifth place with the winner being Trevor Immelman.
Last year South African golfer Richard Sterne won the Wales Open and it will be interesting to see who wins this time around.
