Irish golf star Darren Clarke aims to win Irish Open
Irish golfer Darren Clarke enters this week's Irish Open in need of winning it and he is feeling confident about his chances.
Clarke was nearly victorious at this event two years ago and although he is not familiar with this week's Adare Manor course in Limerick, he still thinks he could be a winner.
Darren Clarke said: "It's going to be a great week - especially on the back of all the Irish wins on tour recently."
Clarke won the Asian Open in Shanghai last month, which was his first European Tour win in five years, and after taking a short break he is feeling rejuvenated and confident about his current form.
"I'm looking forward to it although I don't know the course that well because I didn't play last year when I was injured.
"I watched the event on TV last year and I played in JP McManus' pro-am here a few years ago. I believe the rough is not quite as severe as it was last year," Darren Clarke added.
