Ian Woosnam wants golfers Paul McGinley, Sergio Garcia and Luke Donald to improve European Ryder Cup captain Ian Woosnam wants golf stars Paul McGinley, Sergio Garcia and Luke Donald to improve their form, and in so doing, their chances of gaining a place in his team.
English golfer Paul McGinley and Spanish Sergio Garcia are holding on to their places among the 10 automatic qualifiers but Luke Donald has fallen out of the top 10.
Ian Woosnam said: "Garcia, McGinley and Donald are struggling.
"It would be nice for Garcia and Donald to play a few tournaments over here to get world ranking points," he said.
"They may only have the Open and USPGA Championship to get the points."
Sergio Garcia and Luke Donald play most of their sport on the USPGA Tour and Ian Woosnam has already cautioned players that he will favour those who attempt to qualify in Europe when it comes to wildcards.
Luke Donald and Sergio Garcia have both entered next week's Scottish Open at Loch Lomond and this month's Open at Hoylake, and Donald has also confirmed a number of other golfing events in Europe.
