Hawaiian golf star Michelle Wie crashes out of European Masters
Hawaiian teenage golf sensation Michelle Wie crashed out of the European Masters after she finished 15 over for two rounds.
Michelle Wie, 16, hit some bad shots and ran up successive double bogeys in a 79 that left her bottom of the field at Crans-sur-Sierre so she was at a loss to explain her poor performance.
Michelle Wie said: "I didn't even know what sport I was playing out there."
However, Michelle Wie dismissed all suggestions that she did not deserve a place on the leading European men's tour.
Michelle Wie said: "You can't learn to play against men by playing against women. This doesn't scare me off it makes me more determined."
Michelle Wie is now looking to work with coach David Leadbetter in time for an appearance on the men's tour in America.
"I think I know what to work on," Michelle Wie said. "But I'm looking forward to wider fairways and bigger greens!"
European Tour boss George O'Grady said he would need "a lot of persuading" before Michelle Wie would be invited back to a tour event.
