Golfer Andres Romero wins in Hamburg
Argentinean golfer Andres Romero broke his European Tour duck by winning at the Players' Championship in Hamburg.
Andres Romero, 26, who came third at the Open in Carnoustie only a week back, closed with a two-under-par 70 at Gut Kaden to claim victory by three strokes and he finished on 19 under.
Denmark's Soren Hansen and England's Oliver Wilson tied for second place in the event.
The first prize of £403,510 took Andres Romero's earnings for the two weeks to more than £690,000 and has made sure of his place in next week's WGC Bridgestone Invitational in Akron. On top of this Andres Romero has gained a five-year European Tour exemption.
Andres Romero said proudly: "I feel great, I didn't expect my first win to come this quick but I played great in the Open last week and coming here I was thinking maybe it could be my time,"
Andres Romero added: "I won a lot of tournaments in Argentina and one two years ago in Manchester on the Challenge Tour but this is a big tournament with great players."
