Golfer Alison Nicholas picks Joanne Morley and Liselotte Neumann
UK woman golf star Alison Nicholas has chosen Swedish golfer Liselotte Neumann and England's Joanne Morley to be her assistant captains for the Solheim Cup in Illinois in 2009.
Joanne Morley is reported to have said: "I am honoured that Alison asked me. Hopefully we can pull all the right strings and bring the cup back to Europe."
Europe are still seeking their first big win in America and they play against the USA in August.
Alison Nicholas was delighted that the two women golfers had accepted her invitation and she said: "Lotta is a well-respected player, having competed in six Solheim Cups and Joanne is a good friend who worked with me when I was vice-captain in 2005."
Liselotte Neumann was equally happy to have been invited and she said: "It's so great to be part of the Solheim Cup again. I tried to play my way onto the team over the last few years, but wasn't able to make it, so I'm absolutely thrilled to be part of the team in this way."
