Golf veteran Nick Faldo to play his 33rd Open
Golf veteran Nick Faldo will be taking part in his 33rd Open when he plays at Turnberry in July. The event will also mark his 96th major championship.
51-year-old Faldo, who has been a winner of six major championships, had missed out on the Open last year for the first time since 1975.
This was because he had been concentrating on being captain for the Ryder Cup.
Faldo rejected a Masters comeback in April as well because of a television commentary role that he was already committed to, but now he will be taking part in the tournament at Turnberry for the fourth time.
Faldo, who is a former world number one in golf, no longer plays on tour on a regular basis.
Faldo was eighth when the Open was last held at Turnberry in 1994 and it will be interesting to see how he does this time around.
