Golf star Seve Ballesteros captains Europe in Bangkok
Golf star Seve Ballesteros expects a battle this week when he skippers the Europe team when they defend the Royal Trophy against Asia in Bangkok.
Seve Ballesteros led his side to a 9-7 victory in the inaugural match last year and he has five of the successful Ryder Cup team under him this time around - Darren Clarke, Lee Westwood and Paul McGinley, as well as Swedish duo Henrik Stenson and Robert Karlsson.
Thai golfer Thongchai Jaidee and India's Jeev Mikha Singh will play for Asia.
"Their team looks even stronger than last year," said Seve Ballesteros and he added: "Happily, I also have a powerful team.
"Darren, Lee and Paul are all hardened Ryder Cup campaigners.
"And three of the four Swedish players in my team - Henrik, Robert and Niclas Fasth - have also played in winning European teams.
"The fourth Swedish golfer, Johan Edfors, won three times on the European Tour last season, while our other rookie Anthony Wall is an exciting prospect, so I feel we have a very good blend of youth and experience."
