Golf star Notah Begay's closer to European Tour
Four-time US Tour winner Notah Begay has moved a step closer to confirming a place on the European Tour following the fourth round of qualifying school in San Roque, Spain.
Notah Begay, 34, shot a five-under-par 67 and is joint fourth, two shots behind leader Alexandre Rocha of Brazil (66) going into the final 36 holes.
"If I get my card I'll play full-time in Europe next year," said Notah Begay.
Former European Tour winner Warren Bennett shares fourth position with notah Begay on 279 after a 71 and English amateur golfer Oliver Fisher remains in the top 10 on 280 despite a two-over 74.
Notah Begay said he had already given up the chance of qualifying for the US Tour next year: "I withdrew my application this week so you can't get rid of me now," and he added: "My wife and I are both excited about the possibility of me playing over here.
"But I still have some work to do over the next two days and we'll think about that when this is finally over."
