Golf star Nick Faldo enthuses over this year's Ryder Cup team
Europe's next Ryder Cup golf captain Nick Faldo says he would gladly take the same 12 players who won this year's event to defend the trophy in the next one in 2008.
Nick Faldo, the Ryder Cup's record points scorer with 25, will take over from Ian Woosnam after Europe's third win in a row.
"Can I have 12 wildcards and just take this team over?" Nick Faldo said. "Just give them a cat's lick, some deodorant and clean shirts and just start over!
"These guys love this week so much, they are so passionate about it," Nick Faldo enthused.
Europe's 18½-9½ triumph matched the record margin of victory of Bernhard Langer's team at Oakland Hills in 2004 and it was an unprecedented third win in succession for Europe, and a fifth win in six, which has left Nick Faldo with a hard act to follow in Valhalla, Kentucky in two years' time.
"I don't have to think of much of a game-plan," Nick Faldo said, so impressed was he with the level of play and the passion of the players.
