Golf star David Howell gets ready for Indian Masters

david English golf star David Howell hopes to improve his performance when he takes part in the European Tour's first ever golf tournament to be held in India.

David Howell, 32, will be playing at the Indian Masters, which begins on Thursday and he will be among some top golfers so needs to play well.

David Howell hasn't been at his best recently and at the Dubai Desert Classic last weekend he finished a disappointing joint 44th, 14 strokes behind winner Tiger Woods. That poor result also left David Howell right down in the Ryder Cup rankings.

The Indian Masters is going to be David Howell's fourth professional golf contest in as many weeks having got off to a slow start to this season.

However, David Howell did play well in Qatar two weeks ago when he tied for seventh, which was his only top 10 finish since the race for the 2008 Ryder Cup European team began in September of last year.

David Howell is hoping he can at least get back to equalling his performance then.
