Golf legend Gary Player to play final Masters event
South African golf legend Gary Player has announced that he will play for his 52nd time in the Masters event when he takes part this week but this will be the last time he does so.
73-year-old Player had in the past earned the prestigious Green Jacket back in 1961, 1974 and 1978, but he says now that he intends retiring from playing again in professional golf tournaments at a major level.
But he isn't retiring totally because Player said he will still be taking part on the seniors golf tour.
Player explained that at his age he was simply finding the course was too long and too much for him now.
He said that he has really enjoyed playing these events in his past career but he knows that the time has come for him to stop now because he isn't strong enough for it.
