Australian golfer Karrie Webb wins at Kraft Nabisco Championship
Australian golfer Karrie Webb was victorious at the LPGA's first major event of the year, the Kraft Nabisco Championship, after a play-off win over Lorena Ochoa.
Karrie Webb started the day seven shots behind Lorena Ochoa but soon went forward with an 116-yard eagle at the 18th.
Lorena Ochoa, whose round managed four bogeys and two birdies, also eagled the 18th and forced a play-off, however, Karrie Webb held her strength of performance to birdie the first play-off hole for her seventh major title.
American teenage sensation Michelle Wie, who started the day in second, just missed the birdie she needed at the final hole to also join the play-off and she finished with a 70 for 280, to share the third place with Natalie Gulbis, also from America.
For Karrie Webb, 31, winning her first LPGA title in almost two years was just like a dream come true and she said proudly, "That shot at the last was just amazing. I'll remember it forever."
