Australian golfer Karrie Webb wins at ANZ Ladies Masters
Karrie Webb, Australia's most successful woman golfer claimed her second title in a fortnight when she won at the ANZ Ladies Masters.
Karrie Webb, who grew up in Ayr in Queensland and who still has a house there started her professional golfing career in 1994 and joined the United States LPGA tour in 1996.
Karrie Webb followed up her Australian Open victory with a four-round score of 19 under at Royal Pines to beat Ji Yai Shin who was runner up and Cristie Kerr who came third.
Karrie Webb plays mainly on the LPGA tour and also turns out once or twice a year on the ALPG Tour in her home country of Australia.
Commenting on her success, world number three Karrie Webb said: "I'm probably playing as close to as well as I've ever played," and she added:
"I can't really rest on my laurels with this because as good a form as I am in, it's not being the best player in the world and I have to get to that stage."
Karrie Webb became only the second player to win the same European Tour event for the sixth time - she had previously also won the title from 1998-2001 and then again in 2005.
