Annika Sorenstam plays last game in Sweden
Annika Sorenstam has played her last game of professional golf in Scandinavia but her day was spoiled because Korean golfer Amy Yang stole the glory.
19-year-old Yang equalled the course record there with a nine-under 63 for a six-shot victory at the Scandinavian TPC in Stockholm.
37-year-old Sorenstam, who has announced that she is retiring from the sport in December, eagled the 17th to claim second place behind her opponent.
Nevertheless, although she didn't come first Sorenstam said that she enjoyed her last game on home turf.
Yang managed to equal the course record set earlier on that same day by Minea Blomqvist of Finland, who shared second position with French player Melodie Bourdy, Norwegian golfer Lill Saether and Sweden's Maria Hjorth.
Sorenstam has given her reasons for retiring after this season as wanting to get married, start a family and concentrate on her other business projects.
Annika Sorenstam is playing for the last time in Europe in Denmark from 5-7 September before finishing her career at the Dubai Ladies Masters on 11-14 December.
