American golfer Charley Hoffman beats Justin Rose
American golfer Charley Hoffman has won his first tour title at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and he beat Britain's Justin Rose who came third and blamed the weather.
Charley Hoffman took the title with a birdie at the first play-off hole, as his compatriot John Rollins drove into the bunker.
Golf stars Jeff Quinney and Heath Slocum shared the fourth place, however, Masters champion Phil Mickelson finished with a disappointing 45th position.
Commenting on the results and his own failure to win the title, Justin Rose said he found it hard playing in the windy Californian weather, which he was not used to.
"I think the wind was playing us," Justin Rose explained.
"I think it was a bit of a shame, really, because it was survival more than anything. I don't think there was much great golf being played out there," Justin Rose went on to add.
