Welsh cyclist Nicole Cooke keeps Grande Boucle title
Welsh woman cyclist Nicole Cooke successfully held on to her Grande Boucle Feminine title when she won the 2007 tour in France on Sunday.
Nicole Cooke, 24, was in the lead of the five-day race in Friday's third stage, and then on Saturday she maintained her winning performance from Bergerac to Casteljaloux.
Finally on Sunday's last stage Nicole Cooke led a three-strong break with compatriot cyclist Emma Pooley and teammate from Raleigh Lifeforce, Priska Doppmann.
Although it was Priska Doppmann who actually won the stage Nicole Cooke held on to the overall lead for the title.
It was an exciting final stage of the race over the Col de Tourmalet and the Col d'Aspin in the Pyrenees, and Nicole Cooke and Priska Doppmann gave a great performance on the lower slopes of the Tourmalet.
Nicole Cooke, along with her team, was able to celebrate taking the Team classification title too.
Nicole Cooke will next take part in an exhibition event and time trials at this year's five-day Lifeforce Ras de Cymru stage race, which is being held from 27 June-1 July on some very difficult roads in South Wales.
