UK cyclist Mark Cavendish confident for Beijing
Isle of Man cyclist Mark Cavendish thinks that getting fatigued from taking part in the Tour de France will not spoil his chances in the Olympics in Beijing.
23-year-old Cavendish was the first British cyclist since Barry Hoban in 1973 to have claimed victory on two stages of the Tour and he wants to carry on.
Mark Cavendish is going to be teamed up with Bradley Wiggins for the madison in Beijing after he claimed gold at this year's world championships in Manchester.
Cavendish has kept his winning streak going by being triumphant on the fifth and eighth stages of the Tour de France, and in so doing aiding Team Columbia to a share of second place in the team standings.
Cavendish could get a third stage win later on this week on one of the transition stages between the Pyrenees and the Alps, although he hasn't had it all going his way because he fell badly on the 10th stage and ended up in a ditch on Monday.
His left shoulder needed treatment but he finished the stage, even though he came last.
