UK cyclist Mark Cavendish aims to be a Tour de France winner
UK cyclist Mark Cavendish is aiming to become the first rider from his country to win the green points jersey in the Tour de France when he takes part later this year.
24-year-old Cavendish was the winner of six stages in the race last year and was only 10 points behind Norwegian cyclist Thor Hushovd.
Cavendish has a good chance of winning this time because he was the first British rider to claim victory on the Champs-Elysees and to be the winner of the final stage in Paris.
Cavendish is content staying part of the Columbia team despite the new Team Sky that has been set up.
Cavendish will not be a contestant in the Commonwealth Games that are being held in Delhi in October, but he will be hoping to do well at the world road-race championships in Melbourne.
