UK cyclist David Millar to join US Slipstream

millar British racing cyclist David Millar is going to be part of American team Slipstream Sports for 2008, reports say. And cyclingnews.com website revealed that Slipstream's sporting director Jonathan Vaughters had signed up three new riders, including David Millar.

American riders David Zabriskie and Christian Vandevelde are the other two cyclists also joining Slipstream.

David Millar, 30, who finished 69th in the recent Tour de France, is ending his current contract with Spanish racing team Saunier Duval.

In total David Millar has won three Tour de France stages, as well as two Vuelta a España stages. David Millar held the King of the Mountains jersey for a short time during the 2007 Tour de France, and he is the 2007 United Kingdom National Road Race Champion.

But it has not all been good for David Millar because he served a two-year drugs ban between 2004 and 2006, although he is now one of the most prominent critics of doping in sport.
