Tour of Spain officials say Lagos de Covadonga climb to return
Tour of Spain officials have said that the climb up to the Lagos de Covadonga will be making a return to the schedule for the 2007 race.
This part of the race will provide the climax to the 182km fourth stage, which takes place on 4 September, and forms part of a very tough start.
"It will be great for the fans to see the legendary climb," this year's runner up Alejandro Valverde said.
The Tour of Spain race beginss on 1 September and will include four mountain-top finishes.
"The mountain stages start very early, but with the riders still being fresh I think things won't be decided until the last week," added Alejandro Valverde.
There will also be two time trials in the three-week race, with the first a lengthy 49-km test against the clock on 8 September.
Then the consecutive mountain finishes at Cerler and Ordino-Arcalis end the first week with the highlights of the closing week being a mountain stage, and a finish in Abantos, before the traditional Madrid finale.
