Spanish Astana-Wurth cycling team await drug probe results The Spanish Astana-Wurth team of cyclists will find out by the end of the week if they can participate in this year's Tour de France.
Tour de France organisers have asked Spanish Astana-Wurth to withdraw from the race and the matter has been passed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
"I'm expecting a letter from the Astana-Wurth team shortly," said CAS general secretary Matthieu Reeb.
"We will then set up a quick procedure to rule on the case by Friday at the very latest," he added.
Astana-Wurth ‘s withdrawal would be a major blow to their leading rider Alexandre Vinokourov, who is favoured to win.
Astana-Wurth , formerly known as Liberty-Seguros, director Manolo Saiz left his position this month after he had been questioned by police over a probe that followed a two-year doping ban for Liberty rider Roberto Heras.
The Tour de France begins on 1 July with a time-trial stage in Strasbourg.
