Jan Ullrich looks forward to the Tour of Switzerland despite past injury
German cyclist Jan Ullrich has shown that worries about his back injury were unfounded because he is committing to this month's Tour of Switzerland.
Jan Ullrich, 32, withdrew from last month's Giro d'Italia causing doubts to be voiced over whether he would be fit enough for the Tour de France on 1 July, however, on Thursday, Ullrich insisted he was "looking forward to getting back into action".
The Tour of Switzerland, which will be beginning on 10 June, has acted as Jan Ullrich's annual Tour de France preparation in the recent past.
World champion Michael Rogers, who also withdrew from the Giro after having severe toothache, will support Jan Ullrich.
Andreas Kloden will also be part of T-Mobile's star-filled line-up in Switzerland and Jan Ullrich was optimistic about the team's potential.
"The fact that I have enjoyed success in this race in the past and that I feel at ease there as influenced my decision," Jan Ullrich said.
