Cyclist Floyd Landis makes shocking USADA offer claim
Troubled cyclist Floyd Landis claims he has been offered a reduced sentence if gives evidence against Lance Armstrong that incriminates him.
Floyd Landis, 31, who won 2006 Tour de France but then failed a doping test, said the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) have suggested he do this, claiming the drugs agency told his lawyer he would get "the shortest suspension they've ever offered" if he gave "information" on Lance Armstrong.
Floyd Landis said: "I didn't do what I am accused of doing and none of this has anything to do with Lance."
USADA's general counsel Travis Tygart, who is said to have been the person who made the offer, claimed that under the rules he could not discuss matters related to the case but he added: "If Mr. Landis wishes to waive the rules and allow USADA to comment I will be more than happy to address his nonsense - otherwise I can't comment."
Lance Armstrong and Floyd Landis were team-mates at one point but they had a disagreement in 2004, however, Lance Armstrong has recently supported Floyd Landis and has also criticised the anti-doping agencies.
