Cyclist Christophe Moreau wins stage 2 of Dauphine Libere
French racing cyclist Christophe Moreau was the winner of stage two of the Dauphine Libere and went into the lead over British rider Bradley Wiggins.
Bradley Wiggins, who had had a one-second lead after the first stage, has now dropped to third place, and Jose Antonio Redondo is in second position.
Frenchman Christophe Moreau, 36, held off Jose Antonio Redondo as the pair crossed the line in the same time, 33 seconds ahead of the other riders.
Christophe Moreau is reported to have taken 3 hours 50 minutes 38 seconds to complete the 97.5 mile stage from Saint-Paul-en-Jarez to Saint-Etienne.
Christophe Moreau led a group of cyclists that broke away from the pack on the last of the stage's three moderate climbs.
Christophe Moreau had in the past finished runner-up at the 2006 Dauphine Libere so it is a great achievement for him to be the winner now.
