Cyclist Bradley Wiggins wins Dauphine Libere prologue
British cyclist Bradley Wiggins was the winner on Sunday in the 4.2km prologue of the Dauphine Libere race in Grenoble in his second major time-trial victory as a professional.
Bradley Wiggins, 27, hopes to secure a place in his Cofidis team for the Tour de France, which begins in London on 7 July.
Bradley Wiggins defeated US cyclist Levi Leipheimer by one second, Kazakh rider Andrey Kashechkin and American George Hincapie by two, and he feels this win has given him an important confidence boost before the Tour de France prologue.
Bradley Wiggins said: "Before this year I couldn't say I was a favourite for London, I hadn't got the results on the road for that, but now I am one of them,"
"I can be confident of at least making the top five or perhaps even the top three."
Bradley Wiggins will now be wearing the race leader's jersey during Monday's 219km stage one from Grenoble to Roanne.
