Cycling legend Chris Boardman talks about Bradley Wiggins
British cycling legend Chris Boardman thinks the public have too many expectations for Bradley Wiggins in this year's Tour de France, and there is even uncertainty of a place for him in his Cofidis team for the Tour.
Chris Boardman said: "He's under massive pressure. People want him to move up several steps in one go. It's genuinely feasible he can make that step up, but it is a tall order."
Chris Boardman is nevertheless optimistic and hopes that Bradley Wiggins' good performances on road and track this year will convince Cofidis to choose him.
Chris Boardman explained: "There's no reason why he can't get in on his current form,
"Looking at some of the test results he turned in he's in better road form than I've seen him."
Bradley Wiggins is the UK's leading hope for success in the Tour of France prologue, which takes place around Hyde Park, London on 7 July.
