British cyclist Mark Cavendish named for Tour de France
British cyclist Mark Cavendish has been selected in T-Mobile's nine-man team for theTour de France taking place next month.
Mark Cavendish, 22, who has impressively claimed six victories in his debut season, described qualifying for the event as a "dream come true".
And Mark Cavendish, who comes from the Isle of Man, and who is one of four British riders confirmed for the Tour de France, will be hoping to perform well on the opening stage, which runs from London to Canterbury.
Mark Cavendish said: "To take part in my first Tour is massively exciting, and to do that on home soil will be incredible."
Mark Cavendish will be riding along with fellow Brits David Millar, Bradley Wiggins and Geraint Thomas and Liquigas rider Charlie Wegelius is also likely for a place on the start line in London on 7 July.
However, Mark Cavendish's team-mate Roger Hammond failed to make the cut for the T-Mobile squad.
