British cyclist David Millar signs with Spanish Saunier
British cyclist David Millar has signed to ride for Spanish team Saunier Duval now his drugs ban has ended.
David Millar was suspended for two years for using EPO, but can return
in June 2006 in time for the Tour de France and Saunier are giving the
28-year-old cyclist a second chance and a contract that runs until the
end of the 2007 season.
"He will be back on the road next June. Millar is a great rider, and we
believe he deserves a second chance to display his talent," said a
Saunier statement.
David Millar's two-year ban ends on 23 June, just nine days before Le Tour.
That means the British road race championship on 25 June could be his
first comeback race and the only opportunity for David Millar to prove
his form.
"I've been training very hard and I hope to make a successful return to racing in 2006," said David Millar in September.
