Australian cyclist Matt Goss wins in Tour of Britain
Australian racing cyclist Matt Goss won the third stage of the Tour of Britain in a sprint finish in Wolverhampton.
Matt Goss who rides for CSC, and who was sporting the yellow jersey for two stages last year, just managed to get in the lead over Freddy Bichot and British rider Roger Hammond to win the race.
However, Russian cyclist Nikolai Trusov claimed the overall lead with an eight-second advantage.
Matt Goss said: "I had to hold off quite a few attacks in the closing stages because Freddy and Roger are quality sprinters but fortunately it was my day.
"There's still a long way to go with three stages to go but this has given us a great platform to build on in the second part of the week."
British riders Paul Manning, Ben Swift, Rob Partridge, Mark Cavendish and John Bellis all finished in the top 10 at the closing positions.
