Alessandro Petacchi's not sure about the Giro
Alessandro Petacchi could return to the Tour de France next year
because he feels the 2006 Giro d'Italia route offers him few chances
for victory.
The Italian sprinter, who joined the new Milram team in September said: "The Giro will be really difficult for me.
"There are only five stages for the sprinters, so I'm going to have a look at the course for the Tour de France.
"I'm looking to change my programme for next season and perhaps replace the Giro with the Tour."
Alessandro Petacchi, 31, won four stages on this year's Giro and four
in the Tour of Spain in September. Next year's Giro runs from 6-28 May
and the three-week Tour de France begins on 1 July.
