Wayne McCullough returns to the boxing ring
Belfast boxer Wayne McCullough is to make a return to the ring after a two-year period away from the action.
Former world bantamweight champion Wayne McCullough, 36, who is nicknamed "Pocket Rocket," made his last appearance when he was beaten by Mexican fighter Oscar Larios in Las Vegas in July 2005.
Wayne McCullough's next opponent has yet to be confirmed but it has been reported that he will be supporting Bernard Dunne's second defence of his European super bantamweight title on 23 June when Dunne will be facing Norwegian boxer Reidar Walstad.
Wayne McCullough said: "People think I've been around forever but I've actually only had 33 fights as a pro.
"Most of the guys who turned pro at the same time as me have had nearly double that amount of fights.
"But, for various reasons, I've had long periods of inactivity throughout my career. Those times have been very frustrating, but on the plus side they've kept me fresh."
