US boxer Bernard Hopkins warns Joe Calzaghe
US boxer Bernard Hopkins has warned Welshman Joe Calzaghe that he had "better be willing to die" ahead of their 19 April light-heavyweight fight, which takes place in Las Vegas.
Bernard Hopkins repeated the threat to Joe Calzaghe when the two fighters met at a press conference on Tuesday.
And Bernard Hopkins, who is nicknamed "The Executioner" and who was dressed in a sinister-looking black hood, said: "I feel in an executioner mood. I am going to punish him and punish him slowly."
But Joe Calzaghe, 35, who is undefeated in 44 fights, downplayed it all and said: "He's doing what he has to do to psyche himself up. I'm enjoying it. This is a new phase for me, my first fight in the States."
And Joe Calzaghe added: "He can be the bad guy now but I'm going to be the bad guy come 19 April."
