UK boxer Kevin Mitchell to defend title in America

kevin British boxer Kevin Mitchell, who is the current UK super-featherweight champion, will be defending his WBO Intercontinental title at the Boardwalk Hotel, Atlantic City in June.

23-year-old Mitchell will be in the US for the first time in his career on the undercard of Gary Lockett's world middleweight title challenge against Kelly Pavlik.

Kevin Mitchell, who is looking forward to fighting in America, explained with confidence: "I'll knock out whoever they put in front of me and do it in style. I get some fan mail from the States, but those who haven't seen me yet won't be disappointed."

Mitchell had successfully carried his run of being undefeated to 26 fights in March when he beat Carl Johanneson by a stoppage in the ninth round and won the British super-featherweight crown.

The next boxer to face Kevin Mitchell on 7 June hasn't yet been named but the Londoner is nevertheless confident he will beat whoever it is going to be.
