UK boxer Colin Lynes beats Young Mutley
British champion boxer Colin Lynes has won the European light welterweight title by defeating Young Mutley with a knockout in Wolverhampton.
Colin Lynes, 29, was in command of the bout all the way through and floored the taller Young Mutley in the eighth round, right after forcing a standing count on his opponent.
Colin Lynes said: "Mutley looked in tremendous shape. I surprised myself by doing that to him,
"If you stuck a seven-foot wall in front of me I'd believe I could get through it."
West Bromwich-born boxer Young Mutley, 31, pleased his supporters in the crowd when he landed blows but he never managed to oust control of the fight from Colin Lynes.
Colin Lynes punched Young Mutley to the body in the seventh round with a powerful blow and it was all over in the eighth.
