Scottish boxer Kenny Anderson gets Steve Collins' help
Scottish super middleweight boxer Kenny Anderson has enlisted a bit of help from former world champion Steve Collins before making his professional debut.
Kenny Anderson, who won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in March, will be fighting on the undercard of Joe Calzaghe-Sakio Bika in Manchester on 14 October.
"When I was growing up Steve was my ultimate hero," said Kenny Anderson.
"He's already given me some great advice about what I should be looking to do as a professional."
Kenny Anderson is under the tutelage of Peter Harrison, father of WBO world featherweight champion Scott, and is being promoted by Frank Warren.
"I feel my style is better suited to the professional ranks," said Kenny Anderson.
"I really can't wait until 14 October, fighting on such a big card will give me a huge buzz.
"People talk to me about pressure, but I fought five times in 10 days in Melbourne in front of 8,000 people at the venue and millions watching worldwide on television, so I won't be too nervous," Kenny Anderson added.
