Scottish boxer Alex Arthur to face Nigel Wright
Scottish boxer Alex Arthur is stepping up to light-welterweight to take on Nigel Wright in Newcastle on 5 December.
31-year-old Arthur lost his WBO super-featherweight belt to Nicky Cook in 2008 but he went on to successfully stop French-Algerian fighter Mohammed Benbiou when the Scot made a return to the ring in June at lightweight.
Following the fight against Cook, Arthur who comes from Edinburgh, went down with a virus but he recovered well enough from that to beat Benbiou in Glasgow in the summer.
That fight marked Arthur's debut at lightweight and he gave an impressive performance at the time.
Arthur intends going up another weight next month when he will be fighting on the undercard of Amir Khan's WBA light-welterweight title defence when the Bolton boxer faces Dmitry Salita. The Scot says he is looking forward to his next fight.
