Scottish boxer Alex Arthur to face Joan Guzman
Scottish boxer Alex Arthur, from Edinburgh, gets a chance at a world title when he faces WBO super-featherweight champion from the Dominican Republic, Joan Guzman, and the fight will take place in Scotland.
Alex Arthur's boxing promoter, Frank Warren was successful at winning the purse bids, which took place at the WBO's Puerto Rico headquarters, although the venue and date for the bout has yet to be confirmed.
Alex Arthur, 29, already has the interim title because of Joan Guzman has delayed things by not having decided whether he wants to move up a weight division, but Alex Arthur is really happy to get a chance at winning it outright against his opponent.
Alex Arthur is reported to have said: "Frank has done a fantastic job winning the purse bids and securing home advantage for me in this mega-fight against Guzman. I'm really, really, excited by the challenge in front of me. It's a chance to prove what I have always believed - that I belong in world-class company and will be world champion."
