Ricky Hatton may team up with Oscar de la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions
Ricky Hatton is currently considering teaming up with Oscar de la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions in his bid to conquer America.
His father Ray told www.boxingtalk.com: "They've made us a good offer
and we're very interested but there's still a couple of things to be
worked out.
"We haven't made up our minds on who we're signing with just yet.
"Obviously Ricky's next fight has got to be in America. Realistically
we should have been there two years ago."
A decision on where Ricky Hatton's future boxing career lies is expected next month
with Ray adding: "We always go away for our family vacation on 19
January and we expected to have this all sorted out before then."
Ricky Hatton unified the IBF and WBA light welterweight titles by
knocking out Carlos Maussa in Sheffield last month.
And Oscar de la Hoya enjoyed a spectacular career in the boxing ring, winning
Olympic gold in Barcelona in 1992 and holding titles in six different
weight divisions from super featherweight to middleweight.
