Ricky Hatton may now withdraw from Jose Luis Castillo fight
Boxer Ricky Hatton has now claimed he will withdraw from Saturday's fight against Jose Luis Castillo if his opponent fails to make the weight limit.
Jose Luis Castillo has failed to make the correct weight in the past and twice failed to be the right weight for lightweight title bouts against Diego Corrales.
Knowing this, Ricky Hatton said: "If he doesn't get down to 140lbs then the fight is off,
"He has got to do it this time or promoters and television companies won't want to know him."
However, Jose Luis Castillo said he was presently 3lb over the limit when he took part in a training session at the Top Rank gym in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Ricky Hatton also said: "For all the great fights he has been in, and the reputation he has built for being such a great fighter, if he doesn't make the weight he'll only be remembered for what he did on the scales."
Until now Ricky Hatton has been enjoying in the pre-fight publicity and insists these type of high profile fights are the only ones he wants in future.
