Ricky Hatton faces Luis Collazo for world title
Ricky Hatton's faces Luis Collazo in Boston on Saturday and they will be fighting for the WBA welterweight crown, according to his promoter.
The status of the fight had been in some doubt because German boxer Oktay Urkal claimed he had an agreement to challenge Luis Collazo next.
However, Dennis Hobson said: "We reached an understanding with Urkal's promoter.
"And we've got the letter from the WBA confirming that Collazo v Hatton is for the world welterweight championship."
It seems likely that Oktav Urkal, who is the WBA's number one welterweight contender, will be paid what is known as 'step aside' money, although this has not been confirmed as yet.
Oktav Urkal's was not the only legal challenge ahead of what Ricky Hatton is hoping will be his breakthrough fight in America.
Back in 2005, a New York judge said that Ricky Hatton was to be barred from fighting for any WBA title until he had faced French fighter Souleymane M'baye but the judge eventually cleared him to fight for Luis Collazo's belt after Hatton gave up his WBA light welterweight belt, for which M'Baye is the challenger.
