Margate boxer Takaloo may retire
Margate boxer Takaloo is considering retiring from boxing after he was defeated in Saturday's Southern Area light-middleweight title fight.
Takaloo, 32, who is a former double world champion, lost his chance at a British championship title fight after Anthony Small stopped him in seven rounds.
Takaloo is reported to have said: "I've not been enjoying boxing in the last two years. There's a lot of sadness in my belly and the desire is not there. I could get back and have another go but right now I don't really want to."
Earlier in his career, Takaloo had become the first Iranian-born boxer to win a world title when he claimed the WBU light-middleweight title from Anthony Farnell in 2001.
Takaloo then went on to lose it to Daniel Santos just a year later.
However, following a move down to welterweight Takaloo won the vacant WBU title against Turgay Uzun in 2006, held on to it by outpointing Eamonn Magee the same year, but then lost out to Michael Jennings in April of last year.
