Leeds businessman challenges retired boxer Johnny Nelson
A Leeds businessman has challenged former boxing champion Johnny Nelson to fight him in a charity-boxing match.
Property developer Jos Battle, 28, son of Leeds West MP John Battle, is reported to be feeling optimistic about his chances of winning in the bout on Thursday, even though he has never fought before.
Johnny Nelson, 40, is a former WBO Cruiserweight, with a title he gained on 27 March 1999 by defeating Carl Thompson.
Johnny Nelson, who comes from Sheffield, has agreed to come out of retirement especially for the event.
Jos Battle said: "Johnny has had a good career, he obviously must think he can beat me so that is why he is getting into the ring, but hopefully on the night we will see what happens."
Proceeds from the charity fight will all be donated to The Grace Foundation.
