Jermain Taylor interested in facing Joe Calzaghe
Boxer Jermain Taylor is the latest fighter to show interest in taking on Joe Calzaghe, the world super-middleweight champion.
Jermain Taylor lost his WBO and WBC titles to Kelly Pavlik in September, however, Jermain Taylor has a non-title rematch at super-middleweight in Las Vegas in February 2008.
Lou DiBella, who is Jermain Taylor's boxing promoter, said that Joe Calzaghe would be next on his fighter's list of boxers he wants to challenge.
Lou DiBella explained: "It's hard to look past this fight but, knowing Jermain, if he wins, Joe would be the fight he wants,"
"If he succeeds in this rematch I would be very surprised if he didn't say 'Go pursue Calzaghe'."
And Lou DiBella went on to add: "I think Calzaghe has had a tremendous year and has stamped his status as one of the great super-middleweights of all time.
"So if I know Jermain and he beats Pavlik, that's where he sends me looking."
