Irish boxer Bernard Dunne makes his comeback
Irish boxer Bernard Dunne, who is a former European super bantamweight champion will be making his comeback to the sport of boxing on 12 April in Castlebar in county Mayo.
Dublin's Bernard Dunne, 28, ended his period as champion last August when he was defeated by a knockout in 86 seconds by Spaniard Kiko Martinez.
Bernard Dunne's return fight will be against Venezualan Felix Machado, 35, who was the IBF super flyweight title-holder between 2000 and 2003.
Bernard Dunne said excitedly: "I just can't wait and it's great to have a date to work towards now."
Felix Machado has in the past won against former world champions Martin Castillo, Mauricio Pastrana and Julio Gamboa, however, more recently he has lost four of his last six fights so Bernard Dunne stands a good chance against him despite his period away from the ring.
Bernard Dunne is planning to win and says he plans on a rematch with Kiko Martinez.
