Former boxer Mike Tyson pleads guilty to drug charges
Former boxer Mike Tyson has pleaded guilty to possession of the drug cocaine and to driving whilst under the influence of drugs.
Ex-world heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson, 41,was arrested in December 2006 in Arizona after he was seen to be driving erratically and nearly crashing his car after he left a nightclub.
Mike Tyson initially denied the charges at an earlier hearing in January, although police reported that when he was arrested he admitted he was addicted to cocaine.
The prosecution claim that Mike Tyson had 2.16g of cocaine in his possession and traces of marijuana in his system at the time of his arrest.
At Mike Tyson's trial his lawyer, David Chesnoff, said that his client was receiving rehabilitation treatment in California and has been clean of drugs for eight months.
Mike Tyson faces a total maximum sentence of just over four years in jail and his sentence is due on 19 November.
