English boxer Kevin Michell faces Carl Johanneson
English boxer Kevin Mitchell will face Carl Johanneson for the British Super Featherweight title at London's York Hall on 12 January, it has been reported.
Kevin Mitchell is feeling confident of his chances and said: "He'll be too slow - I'll box him at range and knock him out with a left hook.
"I'm going to have to sacrifice my Christmas, but it will be worth it when I lift the British title."
Carl Johanneson from Leeds made a successful defence of his belt on Friday when he beat Michael Gomez with a sixth-round stoppage.
Kevin Mitchell, besides being unbeaten, has the advantage of a home fight on his side and he says it has been his dream to win a coveted Lonsdale belt.
Kevin Mitchell said: "I always dreamed about following in the footsteps of some of my heroes and fighting for a British title at York Hall."
