British boxer Ricky Hatton counts on his fans
Boxer Ricky Hatton says he can count on his fans for support and he claims that most of the Las Vegas crowd will be on his side when he goes up against Floyd Mayweather in Saturday's WBC welterweight bout at the MGM Grand.
Ricky Hatton, 29, is convinced that some American boxing fans will back him and he is reported to have said: "Even in his home town, I believe the vast majority will be cheering for me."
Ricky Hatton explained why he thinks he will get most of the support and added: "When you see how Floyd belittles people, throwing his money in their face - you're not going to get a following doing that."
Ricky Hatton thinks the boxing fans prefer him because he is down-to-earth, whereas, Floyd Mayweather, 30, is known for being very arrogant.
The fight between Ricky Hatton and Floyd Mayweather is being truthfully billed as "Undefeated", because champion Floyd Mayweather, who is undefeated in 38 fights, takes on Ricky Hatton, who has won all of his 43 encounters in the ring.
