Boxer Wladimir Klitschko beats Lamon Brewster
Boxer Wladimir Klitschko got his revenge on Lamon Brewster when he won by a stoppage in Cologne on Saturday to keep hold of his IBF heavyweight title.
Wladimir Klitschko, 32, who had been defeated by Lamon Brewster in 2004, won by technical knockout after Lamon Brewster, 34, failed to come back for round seven of the bout.
"Brewster was tough, but there was no way I could lose," said Wladimir Klitschko.
Wladimir Klitschko has now won 49 of his 52 fights, with 43 knockouts, and this was the fourth defeat of Lamon Brewster's career to date.
Lamon Brewster had not been in the ring since suffering an eye injury when Sergei Liakhovich defeated him in April, 2006, and his lack of recent boxing experience clearly showed.
"He did not challenge me at all," Wladimir Klitschko said.
Lamon Brewster did not argue with the decision to stop the fight, and afterwards he said: "The better man won tonight."
